Hello everyone!
Over the last month in the Engineering Academy, we've extensively covered ethics in engineering. We learned the importance of honest and clear communication during the engineering design and development process, as well as the consequences of when engineers don't follow the rules (see surfside tower collapse). Next semester, I will implement what I learned in my capstone project, by making sure to completely follow all rules and safety precautions for my project. I will also make sure to be fully mindful of the ethical implications of whatever project I pursue. Safety will always be the number one priority.
In my life, I've been working hard on college applications. My first choice is MIT, and I'm applying there early action, so that application is due November 1. So far, I've completed 4 of their 6 short answer questions. It takes me a while to write them because I'm trying to be as creative as possible and make sure that every sentence is perfect. Ultimately, I know that my chances of getting in are slim to none. But when I receive my likely rejection, I want to at least know that I tried my best and reached my full potential through the application. After MIT, I'm gonna begin developing my UC essays and start my Common Application Personal Statement. Frankly, I can't wait for second semester when it will all be out of my hands! :)
